The ministry of the Judges in the Old Testament foreshadows the ministry of the Apostles in the New Testament. Isaiah prophesied, "And I will restore thy judges as at the first..." (Isa. 1:26). Each judge was a military deliverer or savior; each had a definitive metron of authority (compare 2 Cor. 10:13-16); each had a definitive metron of authority (compare 2 Cor. 10:13-16); each had a supernatural ministry with signs following (compare 2 Cor. 12:12); and even one of them was a woman (Judg. 4-5 with Rom. 16:7)!
God is ushering in a perfect Kingdom through the lives of imperfect people, Each judge experienced through the lives of imperfect people. Each judge experienced a God-ordained weakness which caused them all to depend wholly upon the Lord. His strength was made perfect in their weaknesses, upon the Lord. His strength was made perfect in their weaknesses, for it is "not by might, nor by power, but by Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts..." (Zech. 4:6).
